Yellow flowers from an roofless flower shop; you can find good photos anywhere. I took this from a low angle, so you can't see any people or products in the background; just the sky.

The Yellow Symphony at my website, Brilliant Photography by Richard X. Thripp.

Canon PowerShot A620, 1/1000, F4.5, 7.3mm, ISO50, 2007-06-08T14:23:26-04, 2007-06-08_18h23m26

Source image. I spent a while changing the colors; I was debating between cooler blue tones or warm red and yellow, finally choosing the latter after comparing. There was an out-of-focus flower that creeped into the bottom-right of the frame that I cloned out, and I applied contrast enhancements and a subtle glowing effect. I let the sky go to pure white and the shadowy jungle below the flowers to black, because those areas don't deserve detail.

Thanks, Sara! It's the composition that makes the shot; none of my related photos would look good if we were looking straight down at the flowers. :)

Good idea. I used my Canon PowerShot A620 for this, and it has a flip screen so you can see what the photo will be of without being in front of the camera. Can't do that on my new DSLR, but I get by.

Thanks. When I posted more photos I didn't get many comments, so I must be doing something right... Sorry I haven't commented on any of your recent stuff; have just been replying to my own comments and posting photos here and there when I have time to come on.

Oh thats fine, I wasn't complaining about you to be honest. It just kinda perturbs me a little that people are like ooooh I love your critters then they don't comment on em :P
